Salvencio Masangkay, LMT (they/he/she)

is a Filipino-American, child of immigrants, who was born and raised in Queens, NYC. They are a licensed massage therapist and reiki practitioner based in New York City, originally known as the land of the Lenape.

Salvencio’s path to becoming a massage therapist and healer began in childhood, when they would massage their family members and friends purely out of love and care.

Their path has been deeply informed by their own complex healing journey in realizing the interdependence of health and wellbeing, their ancestral call to indigenous Filipino healing arts, and their passion for healing justice.

In Salvencio’s healing practice…

They aim to:

  • create a safe and welcoming space

  • facilitate healing of bodily injury and trauma

  • invite more breath and bodily awareness

  • improve posture, mobility, range of motion, stress management, and sleep

  • provide clients with relevant knowledge on anatomy, physiology, and self-care methods

  • empower clients to nurture their relationships with their bodies

  • facilitate inherent healing in one’s body

  • increase accessibility of bodywork to all New Yorkers — especially those of LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and working class backgrounds — because we all deserve to feel at ease and at home in our bodies

They aim to honor each of their client’s specific and unique needs and goals for their work together. They believe that the client and their body is what does the healing; they just use their specific knowledge to facilitate that healing. Their healing practice is shaped by a gender- and body-affirming, trauma-informed, and anti-colonial framework.

They have experience supporting clients with a variety of conditions such as :

stiff neck

tendinitis and tendinosis

“knots”
a.k.a
trigger points

carpal tunnel

anxiety/depression

chronic pain flares

insomnia
